I'm taking on a Read-a-thon in September for Teenage Cancer Trust
This September, I'm taking on my own Read-a-thon challenge and raising funds to help ensure no young person faces cancer alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Teenage Cancer Trust, the only UK charity who provides specialised nursing care and support for young people with cancer. I'd be grateful for your support.Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £25 could pay for an hour with a Youth Support Coordinator to help a young person cope with anxiety and isolation during cancer treatment.

Every Page Has a Purpose
Wednesday 5th AugI’ve always believed that stories have the power to change us.
A book can make us laugh, break our hearts, give us hope, or help us see the world through someone else’s eyes. We close the final page knowing we’ve experienced something meaningful.
This September, I’m hoping that the stories I read can help change lives in another way too.
I’m taking on a Read-a-thon to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity that provides life-changing care and support to young people aged 13–24 facing cancer.
It’s difficult to imagine what that must be like.
At an age when life should be about making memories with friends, studying for the future, discovering who you are, planning adventures, falling in love, and simply being young, cancer turns everything upside down. Hospital appointments replace days out. Treatment replaces normality. Fear and uncertainty become part of everyday life.
No young person should have to face that journey alone.
Teenage Cancer Trust works tirelessly to ensure they don’t have to. They provide specialist nurses, dedicated hospital units, mental health support, and opportunities for young people to connect with others who truly understand what they’re going through. They help teenagers and young adults hold onto a little bit of normal life during the unimaginable.
Throughout September, I’ll be reading as much as I can—not because reading is difficult, but because I want every chapter I finish to represent something bigger than myself.
Every page I turn is a reminder of the strength shown by young people who face challenges most of us can’t begin to comprehend.
If you’ve ever escaped into a good book, you’ll know how comforting stories can be. This month, I’m hoping those stories can also bring comfort in a much more tangible way by raising funds for those who need it most.
