September Reading Challenge

I'm taking on a Read-a-thon in September for Teenage Cancer Trust

This September, I'm taking on my own Read-a-thon challenge and raising funds to help ensure no young person faces cancer alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Teenage Cancer Trust, the only UK charity who provides specialised nursing care and support for young people with cancer. I'd be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £25 could pay for an hour with a Youth Support Coordinator to help a young person cope with anxiety and isolation during cancer treatment.

Thank you!

My Updates

Just over half way there!

Friday 18th Sep
Only a couple of days late but we have reached the halfway point in my @teenage_cancer Trust September Readathon challenge and I am soo happy to say I have raised £340 so far, which is 34% of the way to my goal of £1000!!

I just want to thank each and every person who has donated you are appreciated!

To everyone who is liking sharing and reposting my posts, I see you and I am soo grateful.

So far I have read 14 out of 25 books with books 15, 16 and 17 on the go too! I'll post some more reviews tomorrow.

Hi all!

Monday 3rd Aug
Welcome to my little spot.

There are a few reasons why I decided to sign up for this read-a-thon.

Firstly, I am the least sporty person you will meet so you were never going to see me doing any mad triathlons or scaling mountains.

Secondly, you may not know but I am a Children's Nurse and my first job when I qualified was as a nurse on the children's Oncology ward.

I had the privilege of working alongside some absolutely incredible children and young people going through the absolute worst times of their lives. So this cause will always have a special place in my heart.

As I mentioned earlier I am not sporty so being able to do something I could get an Olympic gold medal in (reading if it was a sport) seemed a no brainer!

Finally, I absolutely adore reading. Since I renewed my passion for the written word last March I have read over 300 books. Books have been an escape for me and if I can do something I love whilst helping others why not!

I would be supper grateful if you would consider sponsoring me - every little helps. I am aiming to read at least 25 books in September and I will keep you posted on what I read.

Thanks again for stopping by!
