September Reading Challenge

I'm taking on a Reading Challenge in September for Teenage Cancer Trust

This September, I'm taking on my own reading challenge and raising funds to help ensure no young person faces cancer alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Teenage Cancer Trust, the only UK charity who provides specialised nursing care and support for young people with cancer. I'd be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £25 could pay for an hour with a Youth Support Coordinator to help a young person cope with anxiety and isolation during cancer treatment.

Thank you!

Challenge Complete!

Thursday 1st Oct
Cannot believe that October is here and the end of the September Reading Challenge has been reached.

And what a challenge it has been, the aches and pains of holding paperbacks has been the hardest part for my arthritis riddled hands, but worth it to help raise money for an incredible charity, who does amazing work.

Book 10 is still in the process of being read, but will definitely be finished by the end of the week.

Thank you to everyone for their support over the course of this challenge, for the very generous donations & for always being the absolute legends you are! All your donations have helped me reach my fundraising goal of £200.

Even though the challenge has come to an end, the amazing work of this charity continues and the work to help teenagers battling cancer doesn't stop, so whilst I give my hands a rest from holding paperbacks, I will continue to support the TEENAGE CANCER TRUST in anyway I can.

And keep reading... because escaping into books is an adventure everyone needs, especially the brave teenagers battling this devastating disease!

10 Books have been chosen ...

Saturday 22nd Aug
September is just around the corner & 10 books have been chosen ahead of the reading challenge.

I am a pretty good reader, and love books, especially paperbacks, but reading 10 paperbacks in 1 month, that is a challenge I've never attempted before.

And this challenge is all for an amazing charity, helping teens who are living with cancer. So please share the page, join in and donate, no amount is too small and every little helps!

10 books will be selected ...

Tuesday 18th Aug
As September draws closer, I'm mentally preparing for the challenge ahead, but also thinking about the books to read over the course of September.

I love books in all formats, and the kindle would be alot easier on my arthritic hands for sure, but a challenge wouldn't be a challenge without some physical aspect to it, so in September I'll be reading paperbacks only!

With that in mind, I'll be choosing these paperbacks over the course of next week and marking them up by number. Will keep you posted.

Reading Challenge September

Sunday 16th Aug
Cancer is something that every single one of us has had experience with at some point in our lives, whether personally or someone we know. And cancer can affect anyone, at any age. Being a teenager is hard enough, but add in the chaos, emotional and physical rollercoaster of battling cancer, life becomes even harder.

So this September, this book worm is hoping to challenge myself to read 10 books in one month, which will be a challenge in itself, but I would also love to raise money for an amazing charity and support the work they do to help teenagers battling cancer.

I believe that we can all do our little bit to help where we can, so in my love of books, I want to give back and give myself a task that might seem small but will be a challenge for me to achieve as I'm not a fast reader, nor have the time to read 10 books in one month, but I'll do it, for a great cause and a personal challenge!

Please feel free to share, donate or join in, because together, we can make a difference!
