September Reading Challenge

I'm taking on a 3000 Page Reading Challenge in September for Teenage Cancer Trust

This September, I'm taking on my own reading challenge and raising funds to help ensure no young person faces cancer alone.

As you probably know I already read a lot so to make this a real challenge I'm going to read 3000 pages in September.

RULES
I can only read books I own (in my library or on my kindle)
I can only read books I haven't read before
I will post everytime I start a new book with an updated page count.

I'm taking on the challenge for Teenage Cancer Trust, the only UK charity who provides specialised nursing care and support for young people with cancer. I'd be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. If 25 people donated £10 it would cover 1 hour with a Youth Support Coordinator to help 10 young people cope with anxiety and isolation during cancer treatment.

Thank you!

The End!

Friday 2nd Oct
My final tally was 3548 pages 🤯. Thank you to everyone who donated and shared.

Im so happy to have raised £385.75 (including giftaid) for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Day 30

Wednesday 30th Sep
I did it! Its here! It's the last day of my reading challenge. I set out to read 3000 pages over the course of September (100 pages per day).

Its been the most challenging month to do this as everything seems to be going on at once. Some days I read 6 pages, but luckily I made up for it other days by reading up to 273.

Not only did I meet my target but I've now gone over! Ill add a final tally tomorrow when its officially over but as of right now I've read 3313 pages, 12.5 books and raised £266! Thats around 10 hours of support for teenagers with cancer.

Thank you to everyone who has donated. If you can please donate on my final day maybe we can get it over £300 raised? Even £2 would be very much appreciated.

Day 26

Saturday 26th Sep
Only 4 more days to go and less than 100 pages left. I'm halfway through Daybreak currently and I'm not enjoying it as much as the one before (Nightshade) I'm excited to finish it so I can read the Mirror of Infinite Endings  (a new release from one of my favourite series ever) but will have to wait and see whether I manage to do so in September.

Day 22

Tuesday 22nd Sep
A week away from finishing this challenge and I've just finished book 10. Can't say I particularly enjoyed that ending, I should have maybe left it at book 1 but it's added another 420 pages to my bank bringing me to a total of 2714!

That's less than 50 pages a day left to read. When I started this challenge I thought I'd overpromised myself and I was going to struggle to read all 3000 pages but the end is now in sight and Im feeling fairly confident I'll meet it. Dare I ask, can I even beat my original goal?

Day 18

Friday 18th Sep
9 books and 2202 pages read so far. Theres 12 days left of the challenge and just under 800 pages to go. I only read 6 pages yesterday so I need to keep pushing to hit my daily targets and make sure I don't fall short at the end.

I was hoping to increase my target this week as I've now gone slightly over the original £250 but I don't want to fall short for this amazing cause. Let me know if you think I should increase it.

I've just started book 2 of Daughter Of Darkness which was a faoly easy read so hopefully the second is just as good.

Day 11

Friday 11th Sep
So yesterday marked the 3rd way point of the challenge and I've almost read half my pages 🤯. I finished another book today which was my book club read (ready for next Sunday) but not sure how fresh in my mind it will be as I have 9 days and around 900 pages to read before then.

Day 7

Monday 7th Sep
I read the end of a trilogy I've been waiting on for 9 months and I was so engrossed I read it in 2 sittings bringing my total page count up to 1135 in my first week. It does give me chance to use some of those banked pages with my crazy busy week this week of working late, appointments and parties. I'll try not to rest on my laurels too much though!

Day 5

Saturday 5th Sep
I've reached my fundraising goal today!! Such a great feeling. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far.

I've been trying to get some extra pages in the bank ready for when I go back to work next week. I am 4 books down and I've read 655 to date. Only 2345 to go - what a satisfying number!

Day 1

Wednesday 2nd Sep
It was harder than I thought it would be to get in 100 pages today. It was a busy day of last minute stuff before school starts and I was exhausted. I fell asleep on my kindle after about 40 pages but I woke up super early to not only finish my 100 pages from day 1 but to get a head start on day 2.

This is definitely going to be much harder when im back to work next week!
