I'm taking on a Reading Challenge in September for Teenage Cancer Trust
This September, I'm taking on my own reading challenge and raising funds to help ensure no young person faces cancer alone. Each day I will be tracking my social media screentime and however much time has been spent doomscrolling I will then be reading for that amount of time the following day.
Teenage Cancer Trust, the only UK charity who provides specialised nursing care and support for young people with cancer. I'd be grateful for your support.
Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £25 could pay for an hour with a Youth Support Coordinator to help a young person cope with anxiety and isolation during cancer treatment. All support counts!

Thursday 1st Oct This is officially the last update of the month! I did two days of reading in one, I spent a total of 2 hrs and 16 mins on social media and I read for 2hrs and 44 mins.What an epic month it has been! I read/listened to 9 books in total and raised over £200 for teenage cancer trust. Thank you to anyone who donated!

Wednesday 30th Sep My screentime was 74 mins and I read for 84 mins!I finished 'The Hounding' by Xenobe Purvis and gave it a ⭐⭐.5/5, The premise was promising but not so good on the delivery.
I then started Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, I haven't read a book this long in a while so I feel like it's gonna take me a hot minute to get through it, but I will!

Monday 28th Sep I currently am ailed with the fresher's flu so the weekend kind of blurred into one so I tracked it as one.My screentime over the two days was 2hrs and 5 minutes. In total I read for 2 hrs and 21 minutes.
With less than a week to go, hopefully I can still finish some more books!

Sunday 27th Sep My screentime was 48 mins and I'm not gonna lie I did leave my timer on for 13 hours but I did read for over an hour today!I started reading 'The Hounding' by Xenobe Purvis today.
We also have raised over £200 as of today which is freaking epic!

Saturday 26th Sep My screentime was 35 mins and i read for 39 epic minutes. I also finished Blanket Cats by Kiyoshi Shigematsu and gave it ⭐️⭐️/5, soz i just dont vibe with short stories.onto the next book!

Thursday 24th Sep My screentime today was 38 mins and started a new audiobook, Jennette McCurdy's 'I'm glad my mom died'. I listened for 55 minutes, for performance of the book is amazing!-lexi

Thursday 24th Sep Yesterday I spent 35 minutes on social media and I read for 39.I've been reading more short stories and they are still not doing much for me, i can't lie. And these ones are about cats! If cats can't make me like short stories, i don't know what will.

Wednesday 23rd Sep I have pretty busy since being back at uni so I decided to do two days of reading in one (yes i can do that, it's my rules!).So I read for 2hrs and 55 mins and finished two books.
Firstly, I finished 'The Lamb' by Lucy Rose and gave it a ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5/5, a very quick and enjoyable horror.
And then I finally finished Anthony Bourdain's 'Kitchen Confidential' which is an immediate ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5, life changing book and an incredible audiobook.
Still more books to read though!

Friday 18th Sep Both my screentime and actual reading time was 1hr 29 mins.I finished Carmilla, it's a very simple read, and I gave it a ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5. I'll be moving onto 'The Lamb' by Lucy Rose - love a weird girl horror book!

Thursday 17th Sep my social media screentime was 1hr 34 mins today (productivity is not my strong suit x), and i read for 1 hr 37 mins.i started re-reading carmilla by sheridan le fanu for a module i'm taking but a queer vampire classic!

Wednesday 16th Sep My screentime 64 minutes and I spent 72 minutes reading.I finished 'Lady's Knight' on my kindle and gave it a ⭐⭐/5. It was just a silly fantasy read. But I signed up to my local library and I'm locking in to find some new books to read!!

Tuesday 15th Sep Confession time ... i lost track of my reading today but i SWEAR i did more than 90 minutes of reading!! and i am very trustworthy.i was reading 'lady's knight' by amie kaufman on my kindle and will probably finish it tomorrow.

Monday 14th Sep it's my mom's birthday today!!! - shout out andrea xmy screentime was 93 minutes and i read for 95. i also finished 'i who have never known men' by jacqueline harpman and gave it a ⭐⭐⭐/5.
i had very high expectations for this and it didn't quite reach them but still a good feminist dystopian novel.
onto the next book!

Saturday 12th Sep My screentime for social media was 90 minutes (again ... we don't need to talk about it).I read for 100 minutes today. A few days ago, I started 'I who have never known men' by Jacqueline Harpman. It's not what I expected but I'm intrigued.

Friday 11th Sep Okay i confess that i may have lost track of my reading time but i SWEAR i read past my screen time (55 minutes).I finished The Age of Calamities by Senaa Ahmad and gave it ⭐️⭐️/5. Still don’t love short stories to be honest.
I will strive to do better in my reading tracking :((.

Tuesday 8th Sep I was on social media for 67 minutes yesterday and I read some short stories and an e-book for 82 minutes.I also bought myself some books to celebrate reaching our target so i wont run out anytime soon!

Saturday 5th Sep My social media screentime was 1hr 25 mins (lets not talk about that) and I read for exactly 2 hrs today!I started a new collection of short stories (i normally hate them so giving them another go) and listened to an audio book for most of the afternoon.

Wednesday 2nd Sep Day two!My screentime was only 23 minutes yesterday, and I fitted in 45 minutes of reading Eliza Clark's 'Boy Parts' today.
I only started it Monday but I'm over halfway through! My goal is to finish it by Saturday.
