I'm taking on a Read-a-thon in September for Teenage Cancer Trust

This September, I'm taking on my own Read-a-thon challenge and raising funds to help ensure no young person faces cancer alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Teenage Cancer Trust, the only UK charity who provides specialised nursing care and support for young people with cancer. I'd be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £25 could pay for an hour with a Youth Support Coordinator to help a young person cope with anxiety and isolation during cancer treatment.

Ava’s reading challenge

This September, Ava is taking part in a challenge to support Teenage Cancer Trust in providing vital support to other teens just like her. Any help by donating or even joining the challenge to make an incredible difference to the lives of young people with cancer would be amazing!! 💙❤️💛

Teenage cancer trust have been such a huge support to Ava during treatment. They put on special social events where herself and other teens go to spend time doing treatment safe activities, where they can socialise with other kids going through the same thing.

One of the hardest parts of being diagnosed with cancer as a teenager is having to put your life on pause while you navigate treatment and hospital appointments and stays. Not being able to go and do the same as your friends, or take part in the same activities and hobbies you did before is heartbreaking to watch as a parent. Teenage Cancer Trust do so much to try and make this easier for the patients. 

That is just a tiny part of what they do to support, Jade and Julie who are Ava’s TCT support staff at Birmingham Children's Hospital and Charity always make sure Ava and the other teens feel comfortable and have things and activities to do whilst in clinic or on the ward. They have put us in touch with charities that have provided Ava with generous gifts to help during her cancer journey. 💙

Her goal is to read all of the hunger games series during the month of September (she is a big reader!!!) 💛
