September Reading Challenge

I'm taking on a Reading Challenge in September for Teenage Cancer Trust

This September, I'm taking on my own reading challenge and raising funds to help ensure no young person faces cancer alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Teenage Cancer Trust, the only UK charity who provides specialised nursing care and support for young people with cancer. I'd be grateful for your support.

Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £25 could pay for an hour with a Youth Support Coordinator to help a young person cope with anxiety and isolation during cancer treatment.

Thank you!

Tuesday 15th Sep
Hi all, halfway through now! In terms of progress I am about halfway through book 6! I can’t believe it. I am super behind with the reviews but should upload most of them by tomorrow.

Book 2 Finished

Monday 7th Sep
Hi guys! I finished book 2 of the challenge two days ago, unfortunately due to being ill I have only just been able to update this. The Storm by Rachel Hawkins was a twisty thriller that jumped from 2025 back to decades earlier where a murder had taken place, as we find out what exactly transpired that fateful night. The main character is an innkeeper who may be closer to the mystery than she initially realised, and honestly I found her really endearing and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Absolutely worth a read!

Book Number 1 Finished!

Tuesday 1st Sep
Today I finished my first read of the challenge, The Carrow Haunt by Darcy Coates. I chose this book to begin as Darcy is one of my all time favourite authors, so I knew I would be gripped. It was a brilliant read filled with ghosts, interesting characters and an extremely haunted house. I thoroughly enjoyed this read, I loved the plot line and it is a fantastic example of a truly chilling modern ghost story. It was an easy 5 stars!

The Beginning

Wednesday 26th Aug
Hi everyone, my name is Beth and I am super excited to take on this challenge. My goal is to read at least 10 books in September, but I will read as many as I can! I have never read 10 books in a month before, and it will be a challenge with me being dyslexic, but honestly the Teenage Cancer Trust is such an important charity and does such important work, by providing specialised nursing care and support for young people from the ages of 13 to 24 who are diagnosed with cancer. Thank you for supporting me during this journey!
I will be writing reviews for the books that I finish, they will be available here, on my facebook and on my book instagram (@ghostlyviolet_books).
