I'm walking 60 miles with my dog in September for Teenage Cancer Trust
This September, I'm walking 60 Miles with my dog and raising funds to help ensure no young person faces cancer alone. I'm taking on the challenge for Teenage Cancer Trust, the only UK charity who provides specialised nursing care and support for young people with cancer. I'd be grateful for your support.Your donation, big or small, makes a difference. £25 could pay for an hour with a Youth Support Coordinator to help a young person cope with anxiety and isolation during cancer treatment.
Thank you!

🌞 Final Steps of September – Challenge Completed! 🥾🐾
Wednesday 1st Oct
Yesterday marked the end of my walking challenge, and what a way to finish! On the last day of September, I set out for one final long walk, and I’m proud to say — challenge completed! 🎉
I walked with my lovely companion Tula, who kept me company through every step. We missed just 3.3 miles, which we made up with a beautiful stroll through our local park. The weather was absolutely stunning — sunny, warm, and full of that golden autumn light that makes everything feel magical. 🍂☀️
It was a long day, but every mile was worth it. Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this journey — your encouragement and donations have meant the world. 💛
Let’s keep walking towards a better future, one step at a time.

24th September- another lovely walk in Rooksdown. We did 4.64 miles!

Monday Evening at Eastrop Park: Ducks, Scooters, and Strolls
Tuesday 23rd Sep
On Monday evening, Tula, my daughter (with her trusty scooter), and I headed out for a walk to Eastrop Park. The park was absolutely full of ducks—everywhere you looked, there were little groups waddling around or gliding across the water.
We covered 4.65 km (about 2.89 miles) together. The weather was just right for an evening stroll, and the park felt lively with the sound of ducks and the whir of scooter wheels. Tula was in her element, darting ahead and circling back, while I enjoyed the peacefulness of the water and the company of my two favorite walking buddies.
It’s amazing how a simple walk can turn into a little adventure, especially when there are so many ducks to watch and a scooter to chase after!

Three Days, Three Walks: Mushroom Admiring Adventures with Tula
Tuesday 23rd SepBetween Friday and Sunday, Tula and I made the most of the early autumn woods—three visits in three days, all just to admire the incredible variety of mushrooms popping up everywhere (no picking, no no no! ;P).
Unfortunately, my watch’s GPS was having a bit of a diva moment, but I did manage to keep track of our distances:
- Friday: 2.05 km (about 1.27 miles)
- Saturday: 4.27 km (about 2.65 miles)
- Sunday: 7.65 km (about 4.75 miles)
Sunday’s walk was the longest, and the weather was absolutely fantastic—sunny, crisp, and perfect for wandering slowly, stopping every few steps to marvel at the mushrooms.

Day 17
Thursday 18th Sep
After a little break from our longer walks (thanks to a bout of illness 😷), we’re finally back on track! 💪 Last night we braved the warm and wet weather and completed a solid 6.51 km walk — that’s just over 4 miles! 🌧️🚶♀️🚶♂️
It wasn’t perfect weather, but we did it — and it felt great to be moving again. Onward and upward! 🥾✨

Day 9- rest. Day 10 update
Thursday 11th Sep
Day 8 – Walks with Tula 🐾
Monday 8th Sep
Longest walk yet – 9.07 km (aka 5.64 miles, but who's counting? 😄). I went out with two of my awesome friends, and we had the best time! The weather was showing off – sunny, breezy, just perfect 🌞🌿
Tula was on fire today! She trotted along like a little champ, sniffed every bush, greeted every dog, and kept up like a pro. 🐶✨
After smashing that distance, she got a well-deserved bonus portion of her favourite food – and let’s just say, it disappeared in seconds 😂🍽️
Feeling happy, tired, and very proud of our little explorer 💛

Day 7- Walk with Tula & a friend – but my Fitbit betrayed me! 😅🐾
Sunday 7th Sep
Despite the tech hiccup, I’m wrapping up the week full of walks feeling great.
Total miles this week: 23.22 MILES whoop whoop Share
Day 6- Another sunny Saturday adventure with Tula! ☀️🐾
Sunday 7th Sep
Day 5- Tula’s Quad-Walk-a-thon 🐾
Friday 5th Sep
Today, Tula demanded four separate walks totaling 5.07 km (3.15 miles). That’s:
- 1.49 miles of “I smell something!”
- 0.57 miles of “Wait, was that a squirrel?”
- 0.49 miles of “Let’s go back.”
- 0.60 miles of “I changed my mind.”
She’s now asleep. I’m considering a nap too. 💤

Same park ✅ Same people ✅ Same squirrel giving us side-eye 🐿️
Sunny skies, happy paws, and me pretending this counts as cardio ☀️💪 Share
Day 3: 🌈🐾 WALKIES UPDATE! 🐾🌈
Wednesday 3rd Sep
We smashed out 4.19 km today (which is 2.60 miles thank you Google). Technically it was more, but someone ahem forgot to record the first training walk. Rookie mistake. 😅The weather was lovely... until my daughter started jumping in puddles like it was her Olympic sport. So yes, it was wet. Very wet. We saw a few cats (no drama, surprisingly), and even a rainbow — which felt like nature applauding us. 🌦️🐶👧More walks to come — and this time, I’ll hit record. Promise! 😄

Day 2: The Great Park Expedition 🚶♀️🐾
Wednesday 3rd Sep
🐾 Day 1: The Fundraising Fiasco (feat. Tula the Tornado)
Monday 1st Sep
So, the fundraising challenge has officially begun—and what better way to kick it off than with a family walk that turned into a soggy sprint?
I decided to take our beloved dog Tula out for an evening stroll, accompanied by my daughter, who was mostly excited (until the rain hit). Now, let’s be clear: this was not Tula’s first walk of the day. Her “father” had already taken her out multiple times, so by the time I showed up with the leash, she looked at me like, “Again? Seriously?”
But off we went! The weather was doing its best impression of British indecisiveness—sunny one moment, wet the next. We started strong, spirits high, legs moving, Tula sniffing every blade of grass like it was her job. And then… the rain. Not a gentle drizzle. Oh no. It was the kind of rain that makes you question your life choices and sprint like you're in a rom-com trying to catch a train.
We ran. We laughed. Tula galloped like a slightly confused deer. My daughter screamed with joy (and maybe a little panic). And somehow, despite the chaos, we made it back home soaked but smiling.
Distance covered: 4.16 km (just over 2.5 miles!)
Not bad for Day 1, right? A solid start, a happy dog, a drenched family, and a
memory that smells faintly of wet fur and victory.
See you soon for Day 2—hopefully with less rain and fewer judgmental looks from Tula.
